The 'Master of None' star Lena Waithe has become somewhat of a symbol for gender-fluid fashion. For women who prefer to wear baggy jeans and sweatshirts, finding clothes in most retail stores that are meant for women is a constant challenge.

The actress went on 'NPR Fresh Air' to discuss her new show 'The Chi' which premiered on Showtime on January 7. While on-air, she was asked about shopping in the men's department.

"I try to sort of make the male clothes fit my aesthetic," Waithe explained. "And I think I can kind of make clothes that are made for men almost appear as if they were made to be worn by a woman."

When a growing percentage of the population is opting for outfits that don't conform to standard gender roles, the fashion industry should reflect that. Though moves toward neutral clothes have undoubtedly been made, if a successful entertainment star is struggling to find her style, then those with less access surely are as well.
