- There's a well known Brazilian tune which hails Rio de Janeiro as being 'blessed by God and beautified by nature.' While many would now disagree with this statement, given the political and social problems the city has suffered in recent years, it's true that Rio has spectacular scenery which has inspired many Hollywood films.
