Ant McPartlin has announced that he will not be hosting 'I'm a Celebrity...' this year.

In a statement released on Thursday August 8, he said "My recovery is going very well and for that to continue – having spoken to Dec and ITV – I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off".

He will also be missing from 'Saturday Night Takeaway' at the beginning of next year.

No announcements has been made regarding his replacement on the upcoming reality TV series, which is filmed in Australia. This is the first time the show will be filmed without Ant.

The TV presenter began his career alongside Dec on 'Byker Grove' and the duo got their big break on the hit children's TV show SMTV live. He has battled addiction after being prescribed painkillers following a knee operation in 2015. Earlier this year he was arrested for drink-driving following a traffic collision.
