Kanye West has become a full-on "Make America Great Again" spokesperson as he took to the 'Saturday Night Live' stage with a pro-Donald Trump speech. The famed rapper discussed media control, racism, and stigma against the president during his opening monologue.
Though 'SNL' cut his speech from the show, the statement has gone viral online. Chris Rock shared a clip of it to his Instagram Stories, and you can hear his muffled laughter and "my God" commentary in the background.
“So many times I talk to a white person and [they] say, ‘How could you like Trump, he’s racist?’ Well, if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago,” West says on stage. After addressing the hostile crowd and confused 'SNL' cast, West thanks the team for the platform while saying “even though some of y’all don’t agree.”
Ariana Grande was originally set to be the night's musical act, but dropped out due to current events surrounding her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller's death. West was then added to the show last minute buy director Lorne Michaels.
