The 27-year-old English singer-songwriter shot through the ranks of the music world with impressive speed, and it's landed him in a pretty good place to retire and never work another day in his life.
His company Ed Sheeran Ltd released its accounts over the weekend, revealing Sheeran's 2017 earnings to be over USD$35,693,701, which comes out to a cool USD$97,790 per day, and USD$4,074 an hour, The Sun reports.
That officially makes him the richest solo artist in the world, surpassing the likes of Adele, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry.
And that's after paying taxes! Sheeran forked over USD$6,901,507 in UK tax, which is more than even Facebook paid in 2015 and 2016.
You might think that a young man with an impossible amount of money would indulge himself, but Sheeran reportedly only paid himself USD$10,644 and has over USD$20.8 million sitting in the bank.
As if that wasn't staggering enough, all of this money is in a bank account of a man who doesn't value money and thinks it's the root of all evil.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Sheeran said that all he wants is to be comfortable, and he'll give the rest of the money away. "I have more value on my friends and family being OK. A lot of my money goes to charity or to children’s hospitals near where I live," he said.
A sad truth to having all this money, Sheeran confessed, is that he's never lost more friends in his life than he did when he became rich. It really is lonely at the top.
