As if the world weren't difficult enough for the LGBTQ community, plenty of celebrities have used their positions as role models to make homophobic and/or transphobic comments. While some of these remarks appear born out of carelessness, others seemed to have plenty of intent behind them. And whereas some have apologized, others have certainly not.
J.K. Rowling is now back in the hot seat, once again accused of transphobia. But while her previous incidents revolved around public statements she's made, she's now bringing her work into the mix by authoring a book about a serial killer who wears women's clothing to lure his victims. 'Troubled Blood' is the fifth book in Rowling’s 'Cormoran Strike' series (which she pens under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith), but it's not the first to be accused of being transphobic. That would be the second book in the series, 'The Silkworm,' which features a trans character described as "unstable and aggressive."
