President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker after being repeatedly challenged over his claims that both the 2020 presidential election and California’s current primary races were “rigged.” During the June 7 episode of ‘Meet the Press,’ Welker pressed Trump for evidence, prompting the president to accuse the media of being “crooked” before walking off set.
The tense exchange took place during an interview filmed in Wisconsin, where Trump also discussed the conflict with Iran and defended US involvement by insisting it would not become “an endless war.”
The conversation became increasingly confrontational after Welker questioned his repeated election fraud allegations and comments about mail-in voting. Trump eventually told the NBC host, “Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough,” before standing up and leaving the interview.
