The renowned Royal Ballet has returned with a new production at the Royal Opera House this year. ‘Corybantic Games’ began showing on March 15 and will run until April 9. The production was created by Christopher Wheeldon. The choreographer is behind hit ballets like ‘The Winter’s Tale’ and ‘Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland’. Revered fashion designer Erdem Moralıoğlu is behind the exciting costumes for the production. The Canadian-Turkish creative shared some key details (and pictures) with Vogue.

The costumes are lavish and luxurious. Some dancers wear champagne-coloured frocks and high-waisted, tailored trousers. Others wear ribbon-laced dresses, as well as pleated skirts that fall to the feet. “The lines are very bold; it’s almost like I’ve drawn over the body with a marker. I also found myself looking at previous collections”, Moralıoğlu told Vogue. “1950s underpinnings, and [...] all these hand-pleated skirts, worked its way into the show”, the designer added.
