For every man on social media who posts shirtless selfies, the latest commercial from Fruit of The Loom is meant for you. The clothing company began the advertisement by sharing a shocking statistic, “Every 7.3 seconds, a man posts a photo of himself without a shirt.”
From gym bros to male models, “A concern that last year alone exposed over 352 million people to a tragic problem,” the narrator continues. “Shirts are falling apart before men can take a picture in them.”
Audiences empathize with the pictures of countless shirtless victims that flash across the screen. “How are these shirts getting so shredded, ripped, cut up? We don’t know,” the narrator says.
As a cure for this nation-wide epidemic, Fruit of the Loom is tirelessly working to find a way to clothe these male individuals. With the #PutAShirtOn campaign, the clothing company hopes that their new Eversoft tees can cover up the shirtless males.
“We can make a difference by identifying the men living without a quality T-shirt and commenting on shirtless selfies with #PutAShirtOn,” the narrator says. “We can work through this epidemic together.”
