During cold and dark days, the mornings feel heavy. Is snoozing your first reaction to your alarm? You might consider changing that habit. If you want to wake up with a happy feeling, start to do these simple steps:
Make sure your alarm is way too far to hit the snooze button. You need time for a decent morning ritual to start your day energized. Snoozing just delays the inevitable.
Make the bed
If you make your bed immediately when you wake up, it will lower your temptation to go back in there. Besides that, it will make your room look like a comfy place to rest when you go back in there at the end of the night.
During the night the body dehydrates, so when you wake up, make sure you drink a glass of cold water and take a shower. Both will reboot your body system and make you feel more awake and energized. Maybe even add a slice of lemon to your water for an extra special zest and health boost.
Make a healthy breakfast
Kick-start your day with a healthy breakfast. It doesn't really matter what you eat, as long as it gives you enough energy to get through the morning.
Move the body with a 10 min workout, a walk or some yoga. It will activate your blood circulation and give you energy.
When you listen to the radio, a podcast or read a book you expose yourself to inspirational thoughts. This helps you to create a positive mindset.
Don't forget above all this, it's important to maintain a healthy sleep pattern of 7-8 hours each night. Lack of sleep makes everyone unhappy.
