On June 15, 1920, the region of Southern Jutland, once part of Germany, was reunited with Denmark. Many are unaware of the fascinating history of this Danish-German border region and its cultural and political significance to Danish society. The momentous union came as a result of Germany's defeat during World War I and was voted for by the Danish people.
