How to water an air plant? - Because they don’t have roots, air plants absorb water through their leaves. So you’ll have to mist the plant entirely.

Tillandsia ionantha -

The tillandsia ionantha is also known as the sky plant. It’s a bromeliad plant, which means that it has a short stem and originates from a tropical climate.

Tillandsia usneoides -

Commonly known as Spanish moss, this plant has a nice fragrance and its leaves hang instead of sprouting.

Tillandsia caput-medusae -

Also known as the head of Medusa, this air plant has beautiful long leaves. Expect red or blue flowers in the summer.

Tillandsia andreana -

This plant produces tubular flowers, with leaves growing to be 3-4 inches (5-7 cm) tall.

Tillandsia xerographica -

This plant is originally found in Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatemala. It doesn’t need as much water as other air plants, and features a spike that turns into a red or yellow flower.

This beautiful plant, originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, produces a number of different flowers at the same time–namely a beautiful purple flower.

Also known as the pink quill plant, this variety has the particularity of also being suitable to grow in soil.

Tillandsia bulbosa -

This bulb-like plant originally comes from Central America. It likes high humidity, so if you live in a dry area, you’d have to mist it more often.

Tillandsia capitata peach -

The tillandsia capitata peach can be found in Mexico, Cuba, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. As with the tillandsia bulbosa, it thrives in humid conditions.

Tillandsia stricta -

Originally from South America, this plant is actually quite adaptable. It can grow in a number of places, from trees to sand dunes! There are different varieties of this plant to choose from.

Tillandsia cotton candy -

Also known as tillandsia houston, this plant is actually a mix of tillandsia stricta and tillandsia recurvifolia. The name is probably due to the cotton candy-colored blooms.

Tillandsia aeranthos -

This plant should be placed in a bright spot, with indirect sunlight. It produces beautiful pink and blue flowers, and can grow up to 9 inches (approximately 23 cm).

This plant, originally found in Chiapas, Mexico, is adaptable and can grow in various climates. It produces cute pink and red blooms.

This plant used to be known as tillandsia argentea. It produces an exquisite long pink stem and a splendid purple flower.

This plant is also referred to as fuego ("fire") due to its distinctive red/pink leaves. These are fairly small plants that usually grow up to around one inch (2.5 cm) tall.

This air plant’s leaves look like quills and curl as they grow. Expect an exotic orange flower to blossom.

This air plant is used to the humid and warm climate of countries such as Brazil and Venezuela. But it should not be in direct sunlight. Its pink flowers are gorgeous!
