LIFESTYLE cell phones

Ever been at a meal, and look up to see everyone at the table looking down? The cell phone addiction has gotten so bad that there is officially a name for having a friend, family member, or colleague choose the internet over you. "Phubbing" is shorthand for phone snubbing, and it's a worldwide epidemic.

From openly texting to scrolling through social media, "phubbing" is more damaging to interpersonal relationships than you may think.

Researchers from Baylor University began a study called the 'Partner Phubbing Scale,' and though it may sound funny, the results were actually quite staggering.  Within the 145 surveyed adults,  46.3% reported that their significant other "phubbed" them, 36.6% of these said the "phubbing" depressed them, and 22.6% claimed that it led to issues within their relationship.

When it comes to relationships, it's the face-to-face that you remember most, not the likes and comments. Take a page from this study, and quit "phubbing" around.
