Starting on stage - After finishing school, Danny Boyle worked with the Royal Court Theatre. He directed plays during the early '80s, such as ‘The Genius’ by Howard Brenton and ‘Saved’ by Edward Bond.

'Elephant' and other TV - In 1987, Boyle began producing for BBC Northern Ireland. He worked on ‘Elephant’, a controversial short film directed by Alan Clarke. The film focused on the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
