Scottish pop band Chvrches are set to release their third album this year. Titled 'Love Is Dead', it's a highly-anticipated record featuring singles 'Get Out' and 'My Enemy'. The trio recently sat down for a revealing interview with Pitchfork, where they discussed their influences and inspirations. Talking about the political lyrics on 'Love Is Dead', lead singer Lauren Mayberry said "it will feel jarring and strange if we look back at this era and see that some people were just making vacuous records to feed a two-year album release cycle". She added "Not that we necessarily made an overtly political record, but I think it's honest".

The band also discussed Drake’s hit single ‘God’s Plan’. Their upcoming album also features a track with the same name, despite being written nine months ago. "Do you know how f****** sad I was when that song dropped?" mused band member Martin Doherty to Pitchfork. Mayberry noted "What a great song title. And we’re like, 'S***. Drake got it.'"

‘Love Is Dead’ by Chvrches is out on May 25 via Glassnote Records. Read their interview with Pitchfork here.
