Kurt Cobain left us 24 years ago
- Kurt Donald Cobain was the leader and founding member of what would become one of the most iconic rock bands in the world: Nirvana. When the musician died at the age of 27 on April 5, 1994, all factors pointed to it being suicide, but over the years various theories have emerged as to how Cobain really died.
He not only left a remarkable musical legacy and put the city of Seattle on the map, some say that grunge was born and died with him. Numerous artists were influenced by Nirvana and the Seattle scene.

Birth - Kurt Cobain was born in Aberdeen, Washington, on February 20, 1967.

Divorce - Cobain's parents divorced in 1976. This affected him a lot and triggered angst in his teenage years. In the obituary released by The Independent in 1994, you can read what Cobain wrote on his bedroom wall shortly after his parents got divorced: 'I hate Mom, I hate Dad, Dad hates Mom, Mom hates Dad, it simply makes you want to be sad.'
