After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, ‘Disobedience’ finally has a trailer and release date.
The film stars two big names and two Rachel’s—Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams. The actresses play former childhood friends turned lovers from a Orthodox Jewish community in North London.
The movie sees Ronit (Weisz) and Esti (McAdams) reunite after Ronit’s return from New York City, only for Ronit to discover Esti has married her cousin, who’s also a rabbi.
‘Disobedience’ explores the themes of faith, conservatism, and sexuality. It was shot on location in northwest London.
Written by Sebastián Lelio and Rebecca Lenkiewicz and directed by Lelio, the film is based off Naomi Alderman’s book of the same name.

The film hits theatres in the United States on April 27, and will be released in the UK on August 24.
