Prestigious director Christopher Nolan is feeling optimistic for 'Black Panther.' The director said the film will be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars next year. The Playlist reports that the director voiced his support at an Oscar wrap-up for Deadline magazine. It’s also reported that Disney will push hard for ‘Black Panther’ to make a splash next awards season. The nomination would be unprecedented, as no superhero film has ever been nominated for Best Picture.
That’s something Nolan knows all too well. He directed the hit Batman film ‘The Dark Knight’ in 2008. Although Heath Ledger won a posthumous Oscar for his performance in the film, Nolan was left empty-handed. However, the director scored nominations at this year’s ceremony with his war drama 'Dunkirk.' The film won three Oscars for Film Editing, Sound Mixing and Sound Editing.
With Nolan's stamp of approval, audiences look forward to seeing how 'Black Panther' does at the 2019 Academy Awards.
