James Asquith is a London banker with a penchant for exploring. He’s reportedly the youngest person to visit all 196 countries, a feat he accomplished aged just 24. Now, Asquith is exploring the world of apps and technology. He recently released Holiday Swap, an app that swaps properties between travellers when they go on holiday. “You have a picture of a property and you swipe... a lot of people who've used it said 'I feel like I'm on Tinder’”, Asquith explains, as reported by Travel and Leisure.
Users can browse properties in over 40 different countries around the world. There’s also a filtering feature, “for things like 'I want a place with a good atmosphere or a young crowd,' by country, or whatever”, Asquith notes. If you “match” with someone, you can see their location and availability, allowing you to set up a house swap. It costs just $1 a night to swap using the app. Users are also welcome to request a refundable deposit for security.
Holiday Swap is available on Android and iOS devices.
