Visit the real-life Neverland, free if you’re named Peter or Wendy
The island is apparently located off the coast of Belize
TRAVEL Neverland
To the delight of ‘Peter Pan’ fans, the real Neverland has been discovered! YouTube account The Film Theorists have claimed that island has been found. They studied J.M. Barrie’s book, as well as Disney’s 1953 film adaptation. The theorists took quotes like “second star to the right, and straight on till morning” to locate the island. They also used the film’s depictions of London to estimate where Peter Pan was flying to. Looking at Neverland’s wildlife and environment also helped narrow down the search. So where exactly is Neverland? The answer is off the coast of Belize in South America.
The Belize Tourism Board is more than happy with the theory. They are even flying out two people for a five-day vacation to the island. “Is your name Peter or Wendy? If so, we want to send you to Neverland. In Belize that is”, the board wrote on Twitter. For a chance to win, you have to be a couple named Peter and Wendy. It’s a tough requirement, but getting to Neverland should be no easy task.
