Good news for those who missed the Obamas. The Netflix US Twitter account just shared that the highly-publicized production deal with Barack and Michelle Obama has been made official.
The streaming company wrote: "President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement to produce films and series for Netflix, potentially including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features."
This huge collaboration means that the former president and former first lady will have a new, cinematic platform to reach the American people. With more than 55 million subscribers across the country, Netflix is undoubtedly one of the most influential mediums out there. The upcoming projects look set to discuss Barack Obama's time in office and the key issues he tackled, as well as the matters Michelle Obama championed while she held the FLOTUS position.
Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the Obama administration, said in a statement that the Obamas "have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire," according to CNN.
While no official dates have been released, audiences can look forward to seeing Barack and Michelle Obama on Netflix in the near future.
