Salad cream becomes sandwich cream and people aren't happy
The rebranding has caused uproar
FOOD Salad cream
Heinz has announced that the condiment formerly known as salad cream will be renamed sandwich cream. The company claims that only 14% of people who buy the dressing use it on salads. A spokesperson said that the name no longer "fairly represents the product's ingredients or usage occasions". The original name has been in use since the product's launch in 1914.
The response has been pretty ugly, with fans quick to criticise.
Comedians also weighed in, taking a more light-hearted approach.
Even politicians chimed in on the debate.
