Manchester appoints festival creator Sacha Lord as night-time adviser
The new role will "champion nightlife and ensure people on a night out can have a safe and enjoyable time"

Warehouse Project and Parklife festival founder Sacha Lord has been confirmed as Greater Manchester’s night-time economy adviser. The newly created role will will act as an official champion for the region's nightlife and work towards creating a safe environment in clubs, venues, and bars.
Working with a panel of regional experts, Lord will use his background to promote and improve the area's nightlife. He stated “I’ll be taking a look at what is missing from our night-time economy, what we need to improve on and developing what is working well" and that “The night-time economy is the fifth biggest industry in the country, employing more than 8% of the UK’s workforce and here in Greater Manchester, we have always recognised its importance."
Manchester has long been a major player in the UK's nightlife scene and the new position puts the city on par with London, Berlin, and Amsterdam, which all have dedicated night-time leadership roles.
