Will this sensitive role trigger real-life addict Ben Affleck?
The star's new film may hit too close to home

Fresh out of rehab for alcohol addiction, Ben Affleck is back to the movie business and preparing for a forthcoming film titled 'Torrance.'
According to IMDb, the plot will follow a “former basketball all-star” who has lost his “family foundation in a struggle with addiction, and attempts to come back by becoming the coach of a disparate ethnically mixed high school basketball team at his alma mater.”
In a case of art imitating life, this emotional role hits very close to home for Affleck who recently finalized his divorce with fellow actor Jennifer Garner. After doing a 40-day stint in a Los Angeles based rehabilitation facility, Affleck took to social media to address his addiction.
“Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle,” he wrote on Instagram. “Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family. So many people have reached out on social media and spoken about their own journeys with addiction. To those people, I want to say thank you.”
'Torrance' is currently in pre-production.
