Is a peanut allergy cure near?
A medical breakthrough
LIFESTYLE Safety
Good news for people with peanut allergies! A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine has found that an experimental treatment can help build up a peanut tolerance in people who are allergic to the potentially life-threatening legume crop.
The experiment found that two-thirds of children who took part in the study were able to consume up to two peanuts without any reaction following the new treatment. This could mean that young kids may be protected after an accidental exposure to or consumption of peanuts or peanut products.
While this is not necessarily a cure, it sure is a huge step towards that!
