What does the Queen use instead of the word "pregnant"?
Stop being vulgar, ladies!
CELEBRITY British royal family
It is no surprise that Queen Elizabeth II speaks with elevated vocabulary, but you may be surprised to discover there is one very common word that she absolutely refuses to use.
According to reports from US Weekly, the Queen believes the word "pregnant" is vulgar and chooses not to use it, especially not in regard to the royal family. So, how does she describe Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle's current state?
The publication reports that because she does not like to say pregnant, she strictly describes her as being "in the family way" instead. Have you ever heard of anything quite so royal? Her Majesty first started having this vocabulary pet peeve when Prince William and Kate Middleton were "in the family way" with Prince George, and it seemed to stick!
Most people may think this is a step too far or even laughable, but most people aren't the Queen of England. So perhaps you will think twice the next time you are about to utter the "P" word.
