How Rihanna really spends her millions
Rihanna becomes the wealthiest female musician
CELEBRITY Rihanna
LVMH
Rihanna has been named the Richest Female Musician by Forbes, and surpasses the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. This comes as no surprise, considering everything the singer-turned-entrepreneur has accomplished during these past years. The 'Umbrella' and 'Diamonds' singer—who started her career in 2005 with the song 'Pon de Replay'—has an estimated fortune of US$600 million, making her fortune thanks to the music industry, but also due to her beauty brand Fenty Beauty and luxury fashion house Fenty. By living up to her song 'Work,' the pop star worked her way up to the top by launching the luxury clothing brand in partnership with the world leader in luxury: LVMH. It is a milestone for both the fashionista and for the French group, since Fenty is the first major fashion brand that the group has created from scratch since Christian Lacrois in 1987. This also makes RiRi the first black woman in history to be in charge of a Parisian luxury fashion house.
Work
The 31-year-old singer told AFP in an interview: "I just want to see things from my perspective. I'm a young black woman who loves and embraces all of the young people ideas and energies, I'm so about that," she said. "It is about turning all of that into something luxurious for this fashion house which has been doing it forever." When asked about money in an interview with the New York Times Style Magazine, she simply answered: "I never thought I'd make this much money, so a number is not going to stop me from working. I'm not being driven by money right now. Money is happening along the way, but I'm working out of what I love to do, what I'm passionate about. Work will change when my life changes in the future but an amount of money is not going to stop that."
While she may not be focused on the money at the moment, she certainly is making a lot of it! Curious to know how spends her enormous salary? Click through the gallery!
