The footprints were uncovered near Madar village, about 50 km (31 mi) north of Sana'a. Sadly, due to ongoing civil conflict and the ever-present threat of terrorism, it's unlikely any members of the public will cast their eyes over this momentous find.
In 2008 the tracks of a herd of 11 sauropods were unearthed across a coastal mudflat in what is now the Republic of Yemen. This marked the first discovery of dinosaur footprints on the Arabian peninsula.
