'Curb Your Enthusiasm' legend Larry David turns out to be even worse than the Grinch, as the writer and actor penned an essay for Air Mail on December 18 2021 about why he hates the holidays.

In the piece titled, "A Very Larry David Christmas," David wrote that he was "filled with dread at the prospect of close social encounters with what seemed like hundreds of relatives" on Christmas, adding that he hates things that throw off his normal routine. "That's why I detest all holidays, but none as much as Christmas." He went on to disparage holiday movies, music, and the whole process of buying and receiving presents, along with the "barrage" of holiday greetings that he said "must be returned like unwanted 'I love you's.'"

David wrote that eventually people finally stopped inviting him to gatherings, as "over the years, my Scrooginess at these Christmas Day gatherings became so intolerable that in due course everyone realized how much better the day would be without my off-putting, nay, offensive presence."
