She also launched a clothing collection in collaboration with Puma (which made it to NYFW and Paris Fashion Week) as well as a very popular lingerie line, Savage X Fenty.

Skims had a rocky start under the highly criticized name of Kimono Intimates, but after changing the name Kim has seen huge success. She announced on June 28 that Skims will serve as Team USA’s official provider of undergarments and pajamas for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, as well as for the Paralympics. This is the first time a brand has been named as the team’s official underwear provider, Page Six reports, but Team USA will continue to wear Ralph Lauren uniforms as they have since 2008. The Skims Olympic intimates and loungewear are all emblazoned with the US flag, Team USA, and the Olympic rings. Kim also revealed that fans will be able to purchase the pieces as part of a special capsule collection.
Selena Gomez teamed up with close friend and former manager Theresa Mingus and business partner Morgan Brutocao to create a capsule collection of swimwear for La'Mariette. The collection features six styles, all in the purple, tie-dye "Aura" print which Gomez helped design. "So grateful that I get the opportunity to celebrate my friends’ endeavors," Gomez wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself in one of the swimsuits. "What I love about this brand is that it celebrates women who love their bodies unconditionally giving themselves the grace they deserve. Hope you love it as much as I do."
Celebrities have long been icons of style, as fans pore over what (and who) they're wearing, scrambling to get their latest look. But some stars have developed a real passion for fashion, if you will, and wanted to make that connection to their fans more direct by designing entire collections and labels. And they've had varying degrees of success!
Frank Ocean is notorious for sharing brilliant musical projects with his fans and then disappearing for years, but this time the elusive star has returned with a surprising new fashion project: a luxury brand named Homer.
The singer announced the fully formed company on social media on August 7, which is the product of "years of quiet and careful work and thought," W Magazine reports. Introducing the line with an emphasis on high-end jewelry, the first Homer boutique opened in Manhattan’s Jewelry District, and it's distinctly not an e-commerce brand as it requires you to shop in person or order over the phone.
Ocean said in a rare interview with the Financial Times that he wants Homer to receive the respect of traditional high jewelry brands. “I didn’t want our work to be any less expensive than Cartier,” he said, and so prices for the collection range from US$395 to US$1.9 million, though the materials and craftspeople involved in the production are said to merit the cost.
Ocean also acknowledged that independent, Black-owned brands in the luxury arena are on the up. “There are possibilities for Black people now that weren’t always there for us,” he said. “I grew up in poverty. I’m grateful to my mother because she tried to expose me to as much as she could so far as the bigger picture is concerned. I’m very fortunate to be someone who can make someone else feel like they have possibilities, and I think that will make art and fashion richer for it.”
