Though news of his death was inevitably tied to the rapper, the two had a nonexistent, if not toxic, relationship. Most people first came to know Bruce Mathers through his son’s frequent lyrics about how he abandoned him and his mother.

▲There are contesting accounts of whether or not Bruce tried to get back into contact with his son. In interviews, Eminem has said that he wrote letters to him as a child but they always came back “return to sender,” and that Bruce would occasionally call, but he never actually spoke to him on the phone.

▲It emerged that award-winning actor Anthony Hopkins has not spoken or seen his daughter in two decades.

On September 16, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys filed a restraining order against his brother and fellow pop star Aaron Carter, requesting that Aaron be required to stay away from him, his wife, their son, and his wife's parents.

The request has since been granted, but the story has also since developed. Aaron claims that Nick was physically abusive towards him in the past, calling him a "bully." He also says this move by Nick is in retaliation of Aaron standing up for and speaking with several women who have accused Nick of rape.

And now there's been yet another development in the story: the restraining order request claimed that Aaron told their sister Angel, "I have thoughts of killing babies" and "killing Lauren Kitt," Nick's wife who is currently pregnant.
