In a video posted by Singapore media outlet Lianhe Zaobao, she stressed that she had never claimed that anyone sexually assaulted her.
Shortly before the 1994 Winter Olympics, Tonya Harding and her husband were implicated in an assault against fellow American skater, Nancy Kerrigan. This incident garnered significant media attention and was later portrayed in a movie adaptation starring Margot Robbie called 'I, Tonya.'

Many of the country's top athletes, including Simone Biles, testified against Nassar and against the FBI investigation which failed to stop him for so many years. Nassar was found guilty and sentenced to over 100 years in prison for his convictions.
An investigation into Jontay Porter has resulted in a lifetime ban for the NBA player. The Toronto Raptors two-way player allegedly bet on NBA games, something the league does not allow, as well as providing insider information to bettors and even betting against his own team. The investigation began in March after Porter reportedly gave information about his health to a bettor before a game against Sacramento. More suspicious activity drew attention when an NBA bettor placed a US$80,000 bet that Porter would not achieve certain predicted stats in the game. Porter pulled himself out after three minutes claiming illness, and the bet would have paid out US$1.1 million. However, it was frozen pending investigation. It was also found that Porter bet on many basketball games using another person's online betting account, three of which involved multi-game parlays where he bet on the Raptors losing. The NBA determined that Porter's behavior was an extreme violation of their policies on players gambling, referring to it as a "cardinal sin." At the age of 24, Porter was handed a lifetime ban from the NBA.
