Celebrities are under the public eye constantly, which sometimes gives us the feeling that we actually know them. So when huge stars do something that's out of character, the whole world is taken aback.
That was certainly true when it came to then-US President Bill Clinton and his sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky. Their story is taking center stage again with the September 7 premiere of FX's mini-series 'American Crime Story: Impeachment,' which focuses on telling Lewinsky's side of the notorious American tale, as she also serves as producer.
'Today' host Savannah Guthrie asked Lewinsky on the day of the show's release about closure, and whether she feels Clinton owes her an apology after all these years. "There was a long period, before my life changed in the last six or seven years, where I felt a lot in terms of there not being this resolution," Lewinsky replied. "I'm very grateful that I don't have that feeling anymore. I don't need it."
She added, however, "He should want to apologize in the same way I want to apologize any chance I get to people my actions have hurt." When Guthrie asked if she'd want Clinton to see the series, Lewinsky said, "I don't even know how to really answer that."
