Later, they all made a film together, ‘Rails & Ties’ (2007), where Kyle composed the music, and Clint and Alison directed.
▲The Bridges family are also a family of actors. Jeff Bridges starred with his father (Lloyd Bridges, picture) for the first time when he was 20, in the film ‘Silent Night, Lonely Night’ (1969). Their last film together, ‘Blown Away’ (1994), was made just four years before Lloyd’s death.
▲Bette Davis and B.D. Hyman are not exactly known for having a favorable relationship. Despite this tension, they did star together in one film, ‘What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?’ (1962). B.D. Hyman went by the stage name B.D. Merrill (or Barbara Merrill according to IMDb), and played the next-door neighbor’s daughter.

▲Patrick Wayne, born Patrick John Morrison, was in 11 movies with his famous cowboy father. The first was when Patrick was only 11 years old, in ‘Rio Bravo’ (1950). However, his first credited role in one of his dad’s films only came in ‘The Searchers’ (1956).

▲It’s well known that Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn have decided that they will never star in a movie together, but the same cannot be said for Hudson and her father figure. They starred in a movie together for the first time in 2016, ‘Deepwater Horizon.’
▲The two have starred in three different films together, the most recent being ‘Ricki and the Flash’ in 2015. While they play mother and daughter in that film, in ‘Evening' they actually play the same person at different ages. There’s a pretty strong family resemblance there.

▲The Douglas family is full of actors. When you first think of the pair together, you probably think of ‘It Runs in the Family’ (2003), an apt title for the father/son acting team. However, their first movie together was actually in 1966, in ‘Cast a Giant Shadow.’ The late Kirk Douglas enjoyed one of the starring roles, while Michael made an uncredited appearance as a jeep driver.
▲Following the Kirk and Michael combo is Michael’s own son, Cameron. They can only be seen together (along with the rest of the family) in ‘It Runs in the Family.’

In the movie 'Maleficent' (2014), they needed a little girl to play the young Aurora. The problem was, she needed to interact with Jolie’s character in full makeup, which terrified most of the children. Their only option was to bring Vivienne (right) on the set, as she only saw her mom.

In April 2022, the pair announced that they're creating and starring in their very own Netflix comedy inspired by their relationship. 'Unstable' will follow an "introverted, socially-challenged son who goes to work for his very successful, wildly eccentric father in order to save him from disaster." The show will be based in a state-of-the-art biotech research facility. Owen shared the news on Instagram alongside childhood photos of him and his dad with the caption, "So excited for this. Who would have known that my childhood trauma would pay off!?"

Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell were cast together for a new project from Apple. The father and son acting duo will appear in a live-action TV series about Godzilla and the Titans, alongside other cast members like Joe Tippett and Kiersey Clemons. In a comedic pairing sent from above, Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. are set to star in a father-son multi-camera comedy at CBS. The project is also co-written by the elder Wayans, and former 'Last Man Standing' executive producer Kevin Hench, and all three will be executive producers on the show, Deadline reports.

The comedy follows legendary radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” (Wayans), whose must drag his all-charm, zero-drive son (Wayans Jr.) into adulthood before he turns 40. The show marks Wayans’ return to network comedy after last co-creating, executive producing, and starring in ABC’s 'My Wife and Kids,' which also happened to be where Wayans Jr. made his TV acting debut.  The pair also gave a taste of their on-screen dynamic in 2018 as Wayans guest-starred as as Wayans Jr.’s father in an episode of his short-lived CBS multi-camera sitcom 'Happy Together.'

Tom Hanks has quite the co-star in his film 'A Man Called Otto'—his son, Truman. In the film, based on Fredrik Backman's 2012 novel 'A Man Called Ove,' Truman plays a younger version of his father's character, so the casting comes as no surprise.

Tom opened up about the experience of working with his son during a post-screening Q&A on January 9 and told People, "Without a doubt, it's special because, you know, I changed his diapers." He continued, "But you get past that right away because you gotta show up, and you gotta hit the marks, and you gotta do it on time, and you gotta be right there."

Tom continued of his youngest son, "I know what that takes, and he does too. It's a little different when it's the whole shebang. He was cast for a very specific reason. We resemble each other, he's not a stranger, and he knows what the pressure is, and he's gotta do it."

Saying the apple doesn't fall far from the tree is a bit of an understatement when it comes to these celebrity families.

Kim Kardashian's daughter North West has star power in her DNA, which is perhaps why it's no surprise the nine-year-old was just cast in the upcoming sequel, 'PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,' where she'll lend her voice alongside her mother, who is reprising her role as Delores from the 2021 film. According to TMZ, North's little brother Saint will also make a cameo in the movie.

They are far from the first parent-child duo to hit the screen, however. Click through this gallery to see which celebrity parents turned their day job into a family affair.
