Tarek and Christina El Moussa are the stars of the HGTV series 'Flip or Flop,' but on a personal level, they are newly divorced. When it comes to breaking up without breaking down, this famous couple had to figure it out quick, and now has some tips for you!

The reality TV stars and parents of two children split up in 2016 and finalized their divorce in January 2017. Putting differences aside, the couple makes for a dynamic, entertaining, and successful real estate duo.

“This would be awkward for any exes,” Christina said, according to an HGTV press release. “Since we have to see each other every day it’s beyond awkward. I’m planning on staying friendly and keeping things light.”

Terek continued to explain that “Flipping houses put us in the spotlight, and while it was tough before, now the pressure is really on,” he said. “We’re still trying to figure out how all of this is going to work.”

For anyone who has dated and broken up with a coworker, the feeling of trying to figure it out like Terek and Christina is relatable. 'Flip or Flop' returns to HGTV for its eighth season on May 31.
