What can be said about Renée Zellweger? The answer is a lot, as the Hollywood star is far more complex than you thought. She didn’t come from a family of actors or musicians, but was born to Scandinavian parents in the city of Katy in Texas. School introduced the young star to many of her talents, from cheerleading to playing basketball to becoming a speech team member. She worked as a cocktail waitress to support her family while at school, and that work ethic took her all the way to Hollywood.
Zellweger started her career with small roles, in ‘Reality Bites’ and ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation.’ It’s only been up from there, with the actress taking on more and more ambitious roles over the years.
Fast forward to the present day, with Renée Zellweger an established star of modern cinema. She starred as Judy Garland in ‘Judy’ (2019), making a long-awaited return to awards season (and taking home an Oscar for her efforts). That same year, Zellweger was also the leading lady in ‘What/If,’ a thrilling Netflix show that turned heads. This came after Zellweger took a six-year hiatus, from 2010 to 2016. More recently, she's been entertaining TV lovers with her starring role in the miniseries 'The Thing About Pam.'
All this said, Renée Zellweger is more than just an amazing actress. She’s done plenty off-screen, like her work in fashion. Zellweger has become something of a style icon, always drawing attention on the red carpet. She has often worn dresses designed by Carolina Herrera, and has collaborated with fashion brands like Tommy Hilfiger. What’s more, Zellweger has done a fair bit of charity work too. She has been involved in HIV prevention campaigns, and visited Liberia with The Great Initiative, a gender equality foundation.
