Rumer's post stated, "To those who have supported Bruce, we wanted to let you know that our beloved Bruce has been facing health challenges and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which has affected his cognitive abilities. Therefore, after much thought, Bruce has decided to take a step back from the career that has been incredibly meaningful to him."

"Our family is going through a difficult time and we are extremely grateful for the love, empathy, and encouragement we have received. We are staying strong as a family and wanted to involve his fans in this journey because we understand how much he means to you, just as he does to us. As Bruce always says, 'Live it up,' and that is exactly what we intend to do together," expressed Rumer Willis. Subsequently, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, which is commonly associated with aphasia.
