Jonathan Majors -

'Creed III' star Jonathan Majors appeared in a lower Manhattan courtroom on June 20, 2023, for the first time in the ongoing domestic assault case where a judge set his trial date to begin on August 3. His girlfriend and fellow actress Meagan Good was also in attendance for the three-minute status conference, Variety reports. Majors was arrested in New York City on March 25 following a domestic incident in a car with a 30-year-old woman. The unnamed woman was hospitalized with minor injuries to her head and neck and Majors was charged with assault and harassment. She accused him of slapping her and putting his hands around her neck, although Majors' legal team has denied the claims. Criminal defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry is representing Majors and says that the woman in question has recanted her statement, but this doesn't mean the charges against Majors will disappear. In fact, it's been reported that several more women claiming to have been abused by Majors have come forward and are working with the D.A.’s Office to build the case against him.

Gregg Berhalter -

On January 3, 2023, the men’s national US soccer team head coach Gregg Berhalter released a lengthy statement on Twitter describing the moment in 1991 when he says he kicked his now-wife, then-girlfriend, Rosalind during an argument. “There are zero excuses for my actions that night,” he said, adding it was a “shameful moment” that he “regrets to this day." The statement is signed by Berhalter and his wife. The coach explained that someone had contacted US Soccer during the World Cup “saying they had information about me that would ‘take me down,’” which is why he released the statement.

US Soccer immediately announced the launch of an investigation and said in a statement, "Through this process, US Soccer has learned about potential inappropriate behavior towards multiple members of our staff by individuals outside of our organization. We take such behavior seriously and have expanded our investigation to include those allegations."  They also said they appreciated Berhalter and his wife "coming forward to speak openly about this incident.”

Antonio Brown -

Police were called to Antonio Brown's Florida home in response to a domestic altercation on November 28, 2022, where he allegedly threw a shoe at a woman and struck her in the ponytail, and threw her belongings out of the house. He hid out in his Tampa house to evade arrest, through an arrest warrant was issued on December 1 for misdemeanor battery domestic violence. Three weeks later, a notice of termination of prosecution was filed by the Florida State Attorney’s Office.

Brad Pitt -

When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt began their divorce proceedings in 2016, accusations of assault were already circulating. The former couple's ongoing lawsuit over the sale of the French winery they owned together has brought to light new details of the disturbing story. Jolie has slowly been revealing more and more about the circumstances that led her to hand the negotiations of the winery sale over to her representatives to avoid any further dealings with Pitt. Jolie claims that Pitt verbally and physically assaulted both her and their children during an infamous incident on a private plane shortly before their separation in 2016. She alleges that he was in a rage and continuously shouted at her, punched the ceiling of the plane in anger multiple times, and even grabbed her by the head and shook her at one point.

Brad Pitt -

On October 4, Jolie made a cross-complaint against Pitt in the winery lawsuit in which she accused him of attacking the children too. "When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him," the documents stated. "To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane's seats injuring Jolie's back and elbow. The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other." It continues, "Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying." Jolie and Pitt share six children, who ranged in age from eight to 16 years old at the time. Their divorce and custody battle has been ongoing for more than six years.

Miles Bridges -

NBA player Miles Bridges was arrested for a felony charge of domestic violence in Los Angeles in June. The Charlotte Hornets forward was allegedly involved in an argument with a woman which turned violent, leading her to call the police. When officers arrived Bridges had already left and the woman was in need of medical attention. He turned himself in to police the following day and was released after paying the US$130,000 bail. Bridges pled no contest to the charges and was given three years of probation.

Tyga -

Rapper Tyga turned himself in to the police after his ex-girlfriend Camaryn Swanson alleged that he got physical with her during a dispute on the morning of October 11, 2021, TMZ reports. Apparently he showed up to her home around 3 am, already acting belligerent, and later on Swanson shared photos of her alleged injuries. Tyga turned himself in to the LAPD and was arrested for felony domestic violence, but he was bailed out at US$50,000.

Johnny Depp -

Stories of Johnny Depp's alleged violence towards ex-wife Amber Heard emerged during a libel battle in 2020. Depp sued The Sun newspaper for referring to him as a "wife beater," and the crux of the trial became whether or not Depp had truly been violent towards Heard. Heard had already been granted a restraining order against Depp shortly before their divorce in 2016, and was photographed with bruises.

Johnny Depp -

She appeared at the libel trial and accused him of assaulting her at least 14 times, leaving her with a broken nose, black eyes, and a split lip. Although it wasn't a criminal trial, the courts sided in favor of The Sun, saying that the claims of domestic abuse were "substantially true." In the infamous 2022 trial, however, Depp won his defamation case against Heard in the US.

Rumors that Sean Penn has a violent side have been circulating for decades, dating back to his marriage to Madonna in the 1980s. It was reported that Penn snuck into her home after they had become estranged, tied her to a chair, and beat and tormented her for hours.

He was convicted of beating girlfriend Brittany Ashland in 1996, and two of his ex-wives have alleged serious emotional and physical abuse.

They were said to have public spats on set and on one occasion Roberts was arrested for assaulting Evans. It's reported that she bit him hard enough to make him bleed, and he was seen with a bloody nose.

Steven Adler - Last but not least, Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler was convicted of domestic violence multiple times. He was sentenced to 150 days in jail for attacking two different women in 1998. This assault violated the probation of his previous conviction for domestic violence in 1997.

Ozzy Osbourne -

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have been together for over 40 years, but it hasn't always been smooth sailing. Ozzy was notoriously wild at the height of his fame and heavily addicted to drugs. He has admitted that he was once so out of it that he decided he wanted to kill his wife, and proceeded to choke her. Luckily, Sharon had pressed the panic button and the police arrived in time to stop it.

Actress Robin Givens was married to Mike Tyson for eight months in 1988. She spoke out publicly about the alleged domestic abuse in their relationship, claiming he regularly became violent and threatened to kill her.

Christian Slater is another successful actor with a history of addiction and violence. In 1997, he was arrested for repeatedly punching a woman he was with and biting a male friend on the chest. Slater couldn't remember the incident.

In 2014, James Brown's daughter Yamma Brown released a book about her experiences growing up with her famous father. She detailed horrific instances of alleged violence against her mother. Brown was arrested for domestic violence on multiple occasions throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Gary Busey - Gary Busey has been arrested on charges of domestic violence more than once. He was accused of beating women in both 1999 and 2001, and in 1995 a flight attendant claimed that he struck her after she bumped into him.

Tommy Lee - Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee famously married Pamela Anderson in the '90s after they had been dating for four days. The relationship ended a few years later, shortly after Lee was arrested on domestic abuse charges and sentenced to six months in jail. It's alleged that he kicked Anderson while she was holding their baby son.

Terrence Howard has been accused of domestic violence on several occasions. In 2001, he pleaded guilty to beating his estranged wife, Lori McCommas. In 2011 his next wife, Michelle Ghent, accused him of beating her, nearly throwing her off a balcony, and threatening her with a knife.

In 2004, Diane Lane called LA police to report that her husband, Josh Brolin, had attacked her. Brolin was arrested and charged with spousal battery for the alleged assault.

Floyd Mayweather - The champion boxer has been accused of domestic violence multiple times. In the early 2000s, he was accused of beating and stalking his ex-girlfriend, but the charges were dismissed. In 2011, Mayweather pleaded guilty to charges of domestic battery and harassment, serving 60 days in jail. He has been accused of domestic violence on several other occasions as well.

Rapper Vanilla Ice has been arrested twice for domestic violence towards his wife, Laura Giaritta. In 1991, he allegedly punched and pulled out her hair while driving. In 2008, she called the police to say that he had punched and kicked her in front of their children.

XXXTentacion - Rapper XXXTentacion was gunned down and killed in 2018 when he was only 20 years old. Prior to his death, he had been awaiting trial for charges of aggravated battery and false imprisonment of a pregnant woman. After his death, tapes were released in which he allegedly admitted to the crimes.

Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra were married for a year in the late '90s during the height of Rodman's basketball career. They were both arrested for assault when a fight between them got out of hand in 1999. Rodman has been accused of domestic violence by his two other ex-wives as well.

Michael Lohan, best known for being Lindsay Lohan's father, was arrested for assaulting his wife in 2020. She told police that he had become verbally and physically abusive, threatening to kill her.
