The rare condition is incurable and causes uncontrollable muscle spasms, making it difficult for her to walk and sing. "It's been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I've been going through," she shared. Dion was unsure if she'd ever be able to perform again given the severity of her symptoms, but she amazed fans with a surprise performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
