On-screen couples who keep getting back together
Off-screen couple Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara to appear in fourth film together
© Getty Images
Genuine on-screen chemistry between actors can be quite rare, but it makes itself immediately evident to everyone from directors to box offices. It only makes sense that when you come across it, you must milk it for as many films as possible.
Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have quite a good reason for their on-screen chemistry, and that's because they have a wealth of off-screen chemistry as spouses. They've co-starred in 'Her' (2013), 'Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot' (2018), and 'Mary Magdalene' (2018), and now they're going to reunite in Pawel Pawlikowski’s thriller 'The Island,' as per The Hollywood Reporter. The pair will play an American couple in the 1930s who escape to their own private paradise on a deserted island and live off the land until a rich countess discovers them and wants to build a luxury hotel.
Check out this gallery to see some of the most iconic silver-screen duos that have graced the big screens more than once.
