Singer Keyshia Cole's biological mother, Frankie Lons, died of a drug overdose in July 2021 after struggling with addiction for many years, TMZ reports. Lons had reportedly relapsed while partying on her 61st birthday. Though Cole was given up for adoption by Lons and her biological father at a young age, the pair had reconciled years later and Cole had been open about supporting her mother's battle with addiction on across social media and her reality TV show 'Keyshia Cole My New Life,' on which Lons often appeared. The singer has yet to comment on her tragic loss.

Scottie Pippen -

Former NBA star Scottie Pippen suffered a parent's worst nightmare: the loss of a child. The athlete of Chicago Bulls fame announced on Twitter on April 19: "I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game."Though there were no comments about the cause of death, Pippen continued, "Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would've made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though—Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became."

Prince Harry -

Prince Harry, who lost his mother in a car crash when he was 12 years old, has opened up about his own grief in in the new book 'Hospital by the Hill,' intended to help children who have lost loved ones due to COVID-19. “When I was a young boy I lost my mum. At the time I didn’t want to believe it or accept it, and it left a huge hole inside of me," he wrote in the foreword. "I know how you feel, and I want to assure you that over time that hole will be filled with so much love and support.”

Larry King -

The late legendary broadcaster Larry King had the most terrible misfortune of losing not one, but two of his children in the span of just three weeks. King first spoke out on August 23, 2020, writing on Facebook: “It is with sadness and a father’s broken heart that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King, and Chaia King," who were 65 and 51 years old, respectively. “Andy passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 28th, and Chaia passed on August 20th, only a short time after having been diagnosed with lung cancer,” he wrote. “Losing them feels so out of order."

The singer's 18-year-old brother, Ryan Breaux, along with a friend of his, reportedly died in a single-vehicle collision in California in the early hours of August 2. Ocean was very close with his brother and featured him on his track 'Futura Free.'
