The book delves into his struggles with alcoholism and he opened up about the true extent of his addiction in an interview on 'The Howard Stern Show.' His life was seriously unraveling when he hit rock-bottom in 2015. Stamos got arrested for driving while drunk, after which he finally addressed his problems, but not immediately.

As soon as he got out of jail, he went home and “drank another bottle of wine by myself.” The next day, Stamos got a call reminding him that he had to fly to Toronto to film his part in 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.' “I’m like, ‘What?’ I was hammered," Stamos recalled, "I don’t remember being on that set." Not only did he forget about the project, he carried on drinking throughout the production. 

“As soon as I came back from Toronto and ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding,’ my sisters were there and my agents, and everybody was like, ‘Okay! It’s time,'” he said. “It wasn’t even an intervention, it was like, ‘We packed your bags, you’re going … I went [to rehab] for 30 days, and I just knew it was time. That’s it. I’ve not had a drink since eight years ago.”
