The official film trailer for the highly anticipated Queen biopic, 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' has finally been released. Starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, the epic story of how the iconic rock band Queen came to be is set to hit theaters on November 2, 2018.
The film will follow the UK-based band from their initial formation and recording, up through Queen's historic 1985 performance at the Wembley Arena in London.
Similar to the song, 'Bohemian Rhapsody' has been a lengthy endeavor. According to Pitchfork, Sacha Baron Cohen was initially cast to play Mercury in 2011, before leaving the film in 2013. As of 2016, director Bryan Singer had officially signed on to lead the project, and Malek was set to play Mercury. However, after reports of being absent for much of production, Singer was reportedly removed from the position, and director Dexter Fletcher was chosen to bring the film into theaters.
