Thandie Newton is one of the biggest draws in HBO’s ‘Westworld.’ The sci-fi show is in its second season, with Newton making a bold return. She stars as Maeve Millay, a self-aware android that serves the virtual town of Sweetwater. In a recent episode, ‘Akake no Mai,’ Newton lit up the screen with a remarkably strong performance. The actress hopped on social media to thank the episode director, Craig Zobel. “Congratulations to our director of ‘Akane No Mai,’” Newton tweeted.

The actress also hyped up a new project from Zobel. “Can’t wait to see your new show,” she added. Zobel is directing and executive producing, ‘$1,’ created by Jason Mosberg. The thriller is set in rust-belt America and stars Kirrilee Berger and Leslie Odom Jr. Country singer Sturgill Simpson has also joined the cast, with IMDb noting that he will appear in all 10 episodes of the first series. The director made sure to thank Newton for her shout out “Thanks, Thandie! You killed last night. Like, literally!” he tweeted.
