��Top Gun’, the 1986 film that confirmed Tom Cruise as a global superstar, was a worldwide smash at the box office, having all the necessary ingredients to be a hit.

If the exciting aerial dogfights were aimed at adrenaline junkies, more romantic viewers also had the chance to lose themselves in the love story that developed between fearless pilot maverick (Tom Cruise) and beautiful aerial instructor Charlie (Kelly McGillis).
