The Dark Knight turns 10: all the behind-the-scenes secrets
- Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker earned him a near-clean sweep of Best Supporting Actor awards, including the Oscar, a first for a superhero movie. Not only that, the film was nominated for eight Academy Awards, more than any other superhero movie.
It was widely recognized as one of the best movies of the 2000s and showed that superhero movies could be taken seriously as a genre.
