On May 25, there could be a huge political change in Ireland as the country is gears up for a historical referendum relating to abortion. Ireland will vote either “yes” or “no”, to repeal the Eighth Amendment. Introduced in 1983, the amendment guarantees that abortion is illegal, unless it’s done in life-threatening circumstances. Many celebrities are supporting the “yes” vote, such as Cillian Murphy and Saoirse Ronan.
I defend the rights of the person that placed the giant ‘No’ and a bull on the Dublin mountain, not ever to be forced to have an abortion.

English singer Alison Moyet has also come out in support of the “yes” vote. Moyet hopped on Twitter to respond to a “No” sign that had been erected on the Dublin Mountains. The sign was recently removed. “I defend the rights of the person that placed the giant ‘No’ and a bull on the Dublin mountain, not ever to be forced to have an abortion”, Moyet tweeted. “For those that need choose otherwise, it’s a big yes from me”, the singer clarified.
After users sent her pictures of abortions, Alison made a graphic comparison which you can read on Twitter. She also doubled down on her views, tweeting “Yes. Yes and Yes. Deal with it”.
Last year, Moyet released her ninth album, ‘Other’. The record received rave reviews, and included singles ‘Reassuring Pinches’ and ‘The Rarest Birds’.
