Smartphones have become like appendages to the modern human body, connected to hands, laps, legs, or ears at nearly every waking hour, and not resting too far from the bed at night. While there isn't any conclusive scientific evidence on the effect of cell phone radiation—and, consequently, no universal guideline for harmful emission levels—Germany currently qualifies mobile phones with an environmentally-friendly certification called "Blue Angel," dependent on whether the phone has a specific absorption rate of less than 0.60 watts per kilogram.
