HEALTH Sex in the winter
Winter has a tendency to bring couples together as they cuddle up for warmth, but should you go beyond getting comfy and take it to the next level? If you wish for a merrier Christmas, having sex during wintertime is indeed the way to go, and there are several scientific reasons why.
Winter depression
The chilly and dark days of winter may very well lead to depressing thoughts and feelings, which is often referred to as seasonal depression. The endorphin that is created in your body when having sex can serve as an excellent defence against depression creeping up.
Rise and shine
Is it extra difficult for you to get up in the morning during wintertime? This likely has to do with the lack of natural light as well as the cold. To ensure that you have enough energy to wake up properly, you need to have enough sleep. As you surely know by now, having sex is a fantastic method to tire yourself out and fall asleep more easily.
Runny nose
Having sex with a runny nose is far from appealing, but the simple act of having sex can actually prevent catching a cold, to begin with. Research has shown that having sex at least three times a week improves your immune system, meaning you’re less likely to fall ill.
