Everyone knows at least one person who is always running late. While they may often come off as flaky, people who are late actually tend to be more creative and less stress-prone.

In her book 'Never be Late Again,' Diana Delonzor stated, "Many late people tend to be both optimistic and unrealistic, and this affects their perception of time." They truly believe that they have enough time to do the laundry, go grocery shopping, and run a marathon in an hour.

Type B personalities can be described as more creative and relaxed than type A personalities. They are also much more likely to be late.

Jeff Conte, an associate psychology professor at San Diego State University, conducted a study which found that those with type B personalities had a different perception of time.

In the experiment, the participants had to sit and guess when they believed a minute had passed. On average, type A guessed 57 seconds while type B guessed 77 seconds, according to Telegraph.

Because those with type B personalities guess they have an extra 17 seconds on the minute, it's no wonder they are always late! This personality type tends to be overly optimistic about how long they have to get somewhere or finish a task. As a result, they are more relaxed and have time for creative thinking. 

So the next time you oversleep or miss the bus, just keep calm and let the creative thoughts come as they may.
